FAQ
Q. "We would like to order some formal drawings.....What is the next step"?
A. To process an order for formal drawings we require three things:
(1) A date by which you need the drawings for approval.
(2) The country in which the drawings are being filed.
(3) Reference material for the drawings, this can be anything from sketches, computer files, printouts, photo copies, screen grabs, engineer drawings, photographs, CAD files. Also any specs you may have.
The more information we have the greater the accuracy of the finished work. Some clients also prefer to send us a copy of the specification for our reference. Most of our clients simply send an email with the deadline, the country in which the application is being made and the informal drawings, we do the rest. We find this is a very time and cost efficient way of working.
Q. "What about deadlines...?"
A. At Studio 18 we welcome any urgent job and will guarantee your deadlines are met, our offices are open till late, so if you have any urgent updates on your job we can be contacted by phone or email. For the more urgent cases we offer a 24 hour turn around. Call or email us for more information about this service.
Q. "What about confidentiality...?"
A. We guarantee absolute confidentiality and are quite happy to sign any confidentiality agreements if required.
Q. "We only want to view and print the formal drawings on our computers... what format is most appropriate"?
A. We email your formal drawings as a PDF format because this is the most widely used platform to view documents, but we can send your formal drawings as jpegs, tiff etc, just let us know in advance before we email your documents.
Q. "We would like to import the finished drawings into word processor type documents....what format do you recommend"?
A. Bitmap (jpeg/tiff/bmp) or Windows metafile (wmf) formats are usually the most suitable for this type of software, if required we can send you sample files for you to test.
Q. "Are there any type of promotions you offer for new customers"?
A. We currently off a 50% off discount for your first job and 20% off your next 2 jobs.
Q. "What types of computer files can you use...?"
A. We can import most file formats into our software and always try to utilise existing data whenever possible to reduce costs.
Q. "What if i need photos instead of formal drawings"?
A. When time or budget does not permit drawings and where allowed, photos may be submitted for design applications or patents. Our expertise with digital retouching enables us to remove limiting features and details for broader claims, as well as isolate the product from a background.
If you have a sample of the product being filed you can send it to us and we can photograph it in our professional studio and we can edit and digitally retouch the product necessary for filing.
